Mae of Thriving Center of Psychology holds dual licensures as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).  Mae obtained her first degree from the United States International University in Africa where she started her career as a therapist. Mae completed her second master’s degree from Walden University in the United States where she continues to practice as a clinician.

Mae believes asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It’s a sign of humility, not defeat. Mae, strives to create an environment based on confidence – recognizing what it takes to bring a person into therapy. Her evidence-based interventions include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are thereby rooted in empathy, respect, compassion, and collaboration.

Mae has extensive experience working with adults presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and addiction. Mae holds a special interest in body image issues, bullying, infertility, prenatal and postpartum care, and identity struggles. Mae’s goal is to help individuals create a long-lasting change. She seeks to empower individuals to live a productive life, and rewrite as well as reframe the toxic narrative that leads to dysfunctional behaviors. Mae hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of those who seek help.
